An Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor is a specific type of nuclear reactor. These are the second generation of British gas-cooled reactors, using graphite as the neutron moderator and carbon dioxide as coolant. The AGR was developed from the Magnox reactor and operates at a higher gas temperature for improved thermal efficiency, but requires stainless steel fuel cladding to withstand the higher temperature. Because the stainless steel fuel cladding has a higher neutron capture cross section than Magnox fuel cans, enriched uranium fuel is needed, with the benefit of higher "burn-ups" of 18,000 MWt-days per tonne of fuel, requiring less frequent refuelling. An Act to prohibit persons from having in their possession or custody dogs belonging to types bred for fighting; to impose restrictions in respect of such dogs pending the coming into force of the prohibition; to enable restrictions to be imposed in relation to other types of dog which present a serious danger to the public; to make further provision for securing that dogs are kept under proper control; and for connected purposes. (1)This Act may be cited as the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. (2)In this Act— “advertisement” includes any means of bringing a matter to the attention of the public and “advertise” shall be construed accordingly; “assistance dog” has the meaning given by section 173(1) of the Equality Act 2010; “public place” means any street, road or other place (whether or not enclosed) to which the public have or are permitted to have access whether for payment or otherwise and includes the common parts of a building containing two or more separate dwellings.
